Did you download the safe and sound app that was on the back of your Berry Buck?!  Crime Stoppers will be handing out tickets for a free treat if you can provide evidence of your download.  If you didn't, there is still time!  Access the code in announcements!   Be ready when you are stopped by a crime stopper, be ready to report safety and security threats to the school!

  • Attention all juniors- Internship / Work Experience applications are due with your (short) essay THIS Friday, March 7th- no exceptions. Need one?  Stop in student services or see Ms.Roeder in B213

  • SENIORS- click this link to buy a senior shirt. There are some other items as well to recognize the senior class! Store is open until March 12th!

  • For those students interested in attending the Politics Today field trip to the Iowa Capitol next Tuesday, they must sign up through this link:  State Capitol Field Trip Sign-Up 

  • Bettendorf School District is hosting the annual STEAM Expo for area Elementary students this Saturday, March 8th. We are in need of more high school volunteers to make the event a success. Please sign up here to help out! If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Hansen or Mrs. Hoyt. 

  • This week is Read Across America! To celebrate reading, we are doing a book themed spirit week and special Library Pride sessions. Dress up days:

    • Monday: Throwback by Maurene Goo - Dress like it's the 1990s 🎧

    • Tuesday: The Counselors by Jessica Goodman - Dress like you're going camping ⛺

    • Wednesday: Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo - Dress in your travel/airport outfit ✈️

    • Thursday: The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton - Dress like a Greaser or a Soc 😎

    • Friday: Comic Book Competition - Represent either Marvel or DC (no masks, hats, wigs, or weapons) 💥

  • This year's Visiting Science Scholar is Elspeth Petersen, who is a BHS and Iowa State graduate currently working at NASA. Read more in her biography. She will be presenting to all science classes in the PAC on Friday, March 7th. If you are not currently in a science class and would like to attend, please fill out this form to be excused.

  • The 2025 Senior Awards season is upon us.  Please fill out this LINK to be recognized at the April 30th awards ceremony.  The form must be filled out by Monday, April 14th, please see Mrs. Cauwels in Student Services with any questions.

  • Anyone interested in Girls Soccer, leading up to break, we have a preseason camp from Monday to Thursday from 4-5 pm at the TBK sports complex. The dates are March 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, 13. The cost is $10 to cover field rental. If you have any questions, you can reach out to Coach Fank in D264 or Coach Keith in C371.

  • Boys soccer will have open gym in TouVelle Stadium beginning at 5:15 pm on both Monday, March 3 and Thursday, March 6.  Also, reminder to all boys soccer players that they need to have a recent physical uploaded to Family ID in order to be able to practice starting March 19.  Any questions, see Mr. Hornaday.

  • Cultural Diversity Club is hosting their Second Annual Black History Month Contest!  This contest is open to all BHS students grades 9-12. Paint/draw/use digital mediums, etc. to create a piece of art that embodies the concept: Threads of Resilience: Weaving Black History into the Future - Highlight the interconnectedness of past, present, and future, highlighting the strength, perseverance, and contributions of Black individuals throughout history. You can choose an area to highlight: Historical figures and movements, Cultural expressions, Personal stories and impact, Symbolism of resilience.   • Would you like to spend time with your friends while helping children who are battling cancer or other serious illnesses? If so, Dance Marathon is for you. For $20, you could help a child and their family while also gaining admission to BHS Dance Marathon on March 8th from 8 pm to 12 am where families of BHS will share their own experiences.

  • Conservation Club meets every Monday from 3:30-4:30 in room C302. If you're interested in saving species by planting flowers and testing water quality, or you're interested in going on field trips that include boating on the Mississippi River or hiking through forests, join us!!

  • Chess Club meets every Wednesday after school in the Cafeteria

  • Film Club meets every Friday during PRIDE in Mrs. Mojeiko's room, B210.

  • JCC will meet next on the 6th of March. See you then!

  • French Club meets Thursdays after school in room D268. We have snacks!
