Congratulations to Dillan Tholin (class of 2023) for winning the Nahant Marsh Education Center Future Conservation Leadership Award.
Dillan began his journey as a Junior Zookeeper at Niabi Zoo in 2019, quickly exceeding expectations with 252 hours of service—the most in program history. His passion never wavered, even during the pandemic, when he was among the first volunteers to return in 2021, assisting with animal care and guest education.
By 2022, Dillan became the youngest person ever hired as a Zookeeper, expanding his role in conservation, animal care, and education. Now a sophomore at Iowa State University, he has accumulated over 3,000 hours of service, demonstrating unwavering dedication to animal welfare and conservation education.
