This week is FAFSA or Free Application for Federal Student Aid Month! No matter what grade you're in, it is important to understand FAFSA and how it can help you pay for your college plans! This week we will be busting some FAFSA Myths to help all students better understand FAFSA!
Thursday’s FAFSA Mythbuster:
"I need good grades to qualify."
Fact: Federal financial aid primarily considers financial need, not academic performance. However, maintaining a minimum GPA is usually required to keep aid after receiving it. Academic performance can impact merit-based scholarships, but not need-based aid.
Seniors- the FAFSA is open now! Make sure you're logging in and getting your application done ASAP. See your counselor or Mrs. Hoyt with questions!
