This week is FAFSA or Free Application for Federal Student Aid Month! No matter what grade you're in, it is important to understand FAFSA and how it can help you pay for your college plans! This week we will be busting some FAFSA Myths to help all students better understand FAFSA!
Tuesdays FAFSA Mythbuster:
"I won’t qualify for aid, so I shouldn’t apply." Fact: Many families assume they won’t qualify based on income alone, but FAFSA considers multiple factors, such as family size, the number of family members in college, and school costs. Even if you don’t qualify for need-based grants, you may still be eligible for federal student loans and work-study programs. Some schools and scholarship programs also use FAFSA data when awarding aid.

Upcoming events/deadlines:
Have you grown out of your old mittens and gloves? Get rid of them! And pop them on FBLA’s holiday mitten tree! Donate new or used mittens in the Business Hall throughout December for our elementary schools and make their winter season a bit warmer. Let’s “build some warmth” together and show how big our hearts can be, put a mitten on the tree and help a child in need.
Tonight, prior to the start of the varsity basketball game (roughly 7:15pm), the Boys Basketball Team will host a special tribute in honor of Jakob Hoffman, our beloved team manager. We invite all students, staff, and community members to join us for this meaningful event as we celebrate Jakob and his passion for Bulldog Basketball.
The Theatre Department is presenting the musical Cinderella this spring. For audition information please attend Pride Tuesday or a meeting before school Tuesday or Wednesday for more details and audition materials, auditions must be submitted by Sunday. Freshmen Student Council is hosting a Book Drive with United Way. The drive ends on December 20th. They are collecting slightly used, appropriate books from each 1st block and then donating them to United Way, Please donate today!

We’re excited to invite you to join in the fun and spread some holiday cheer! Here’s how you can participate: 
Pick up a coloring sheet at the Bettendorf High School Library. 
Entries are due by Friday, December 13th – don’t wait, get creative today! 
Winners will be announced on Wednesday, December 18th! There are two divisions: Student Division 
Staff Division 
So, whether you’re a student or a staff member, there’s a chance to show off your artistic skills and take home some sweet prizes!

12/10/24 - Women in Cardiology
Area female high school students are invited to attend an evening of learning about Careers in Cardiology. Dr Rafat Padaria is hosting the event to promote cardiology careers to interested high school students. There will be hands-on components, and opportunities to talk to women who work in cardiology fields, including cardiologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, echocardiography and vascular, nuclear and radiology, technologists, and nursing careers. Held at St. Ambrose's Rogalski Center 5:30-7:30 pm. Sign up here.
