This week is FAFSA or Free Application for Federal Student Aid Month! No matter what grade you're in, it is important to understand FAFSA and how it can help you pay for your college plans! This week we will be busting some FAFSA Myths to help all students better understand FAFSA!

First up:

1. The FAFSA Is Only for Grant Money

The FAFSA not only determines eligibility for federal grants such as the Pell Grant for low-income students but it's used by many schools to administer federal student loans, work-study and institutional scholarships.

Some schools will not consider students for scholarships and grants provided by the school unless they fill out the FAFSA!

Seniors- the FAFSA is open now! Make sure you're logging in and getting your application done ASAP. See your counselor or Mrs. Hoyt with questions!
