This fall, Edison Academy students and staff will return to a new school!
The Edison Academy has been housed at the Thomas Edison Education Center (the former Bettendorf post office) since 1998. While learning standards have evolved over the years, the facility has declined. The limited space and lack of walled classrooms have been inadequate and restrictive for today’s curriculum standards.
The new school is at 3066 Victoria St., across from the Bettendorf High School south parking lot. The current building is being completely renovated for office and community spaces, with a four-classroom addition being added to the back of the facility at approximately $4.3 million, funded through SAVE and PPEL funds.
The new school will provide students and staff with an updated learning environment with natural light, flex space for group work and socialization, and access to Bettendorf High School classes and resources.
Edison Academy is an alternative high school program that services up to 70 sophomore through senior students from Bettendorf, Pleasant Valley, and North Scott high schools. Learn more
