School Library Month

April is School Library Month, a time to celebrate the essential role school libraries play in fostering a love of reading, research, and lifelong learning.

School Librarian Day on April 4 is a special opportunity to recognize our amazing librarians for their dedication to supporting students and staff. Be sure to thank your school librarian for helping to inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a passion for books! 📚✨ #BETTerTogether

Being a teacher-librarian is, without a doubt, the best job. It is a privilege to share the world of stories and information with students every school day. In our school libraries, every student is empowered to succeed, and it is my passion and responsibility to nurture their intellectual growth. Teacher-librarians are not just educators; we are advocates for the whole child, fostering a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom. The opportunity to inspire curiosity, instill a love of reading, and provide resources that support lifelong learning is a daily honor that I deeply cherish.

I love being a middle school teacher-librarian because I get to work with the entire school community—students, teachers, and staff—to support learning. I believe the library is the heart of the school, a place where everyone can explore their interests, collaborate on projects, and obtain help with numerous resources. It’s been rewarding over the many years to see how the library continues to help strengthen our school by making a positive impact on all areas of learning.
