Journey Brothers Elijah Higgins (recent Edison Academy graduate) and Jayden Schwarz hold their hardcover, 92-page published book.
After two years of remembering, writing, and editing, Elijah Higgins has published his first book, Journey Brothers: The Journey Begins. The book chronicles Elijah’s basketball journey from tryouts in seventh grade to the present. Not only about sports, the journey begins with the forging of a friendship that endures through the story’s heartbreaks and triumphs.
Elijah and his best friend, Jayden Schwarz, wanted to tell their story in order to inspire others to follow their dreams and to find people who support those dreams. Elijah began writing the memoir in his Edison Academy English class and, with the encouragement of his English teacher, continued to write throughout his junior and senior years. The book, which can be found for sale or to read on Bookemon.com, was completed in May of 2023, just before Elijah and Jayden both graduated from North Scott High School.
Elijah is diligently working on the sequel Journey Brothers: The Journey Continues… this time about his experiences in baseball. He plans to continue writing and studying sports journalism with the continued support of his Journey Brother, Jayden.
