District Announces New HR & Finance Directors - Mejia & Beckwith

Mejia Appointed BCSD Director of Human Resources
We are pleased to announce that Maile Mejia has accepted the Director of Human Resources position.
"Maile has long been a great asset in our Human Resources Department and the district," said Superintendent Dr. Michelle Morse. "She brings an ability to create connections with our staff and vast experience through her different roles within the district and our human resources team."
Mejia holds a bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Human Resources from Western Illinois University. She also has a Master of Organizational Leadership from St. Ambrose University. She is currently studying for her Senior Professional in Human Resources Certification.
Mejia has been with the Bettendorf Community School District since July 2014. Most recently, she served as the Assistant Director of Human Resources. She has also served as the Director of Nutrition Services, and Human Resources and Benefits Specialist.
Beckwith Selected as BCSD Director of Finance & Business Services
We are pleased to announce that Robert Beckwith has been selected as the district's Director of Finance & Business Services position.
"We are excited to have Bob join our administrative team," said Dr. Michelle Morse, Superintendent. "The finance director is a very important leadership position in the school district. Bob comes to Bettendorf with extensive knowledge of school finance, budgeting processes, and a strong understanding of the position's requirements."
Beckwith holds a degree in marketing/finance from Millikin University in Decatur, IL. He also has a Master of Science in school business management from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, and a Chief School Business Officials Endorsement.
Most recently, Beckwith served as the Chief Financial Officer for Rock Island-Milan School District #41. He has an extensive history serving in finance and business positions for school districts in Sandwich, Naperville, Downers Grove, and Lemonth-Bromberek, Illinois.
His anticipated start will be May 1.
