We are pleased to announce that Dr. Mike Gillotti has been selected as the Bettendorf Community School District Associate Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, pending board approval.
We are excited to have him join our Bettendorf administrative team as the district’s executive head of educational operations.
Dr. Gillotti began his career in Lincoln Public Schools (Nebraska) as a social studies teacher at Lincoln North Star High School in 2005. He started his journey as an administrator at Lincoln North Star in 2009 as an Instructional Coordinator and began serving in the role of Associate Principal in 2012. In 2015, he became the Principal of Lincoln Southwest High School and has served in that capacity for the past six years.
Dr. Gillotti believes that all students can achieve at high levels when they have a community around them committed to making that a reality; building on a foundation of trust that comes from the development of caring, positive relationships with all stakeholders throughout the community. He has a passion for helping others by modeling and cultivating a life-long love of learning. He also embraces the growth mindset and takes pride in developing systems that remove barriers and create opportunities for personal growth.
He holds a Bachelor of Education and Human Sciences from the University of Nebraska. He has a Masters degree in Historical Studies from Nebraska Wesleyan University and a Masters degree in Education Administration from the University of Nebraska. Dr. Gillotti received his Ed. Specialist degree from Wayne State College and a Doctorate of Education from Doane University.
Dr. Gillotti will be moving to the community with his wife Brooke, daughters Luci (8), Zoey (6), and son Vinny (3). His favorite thing to do when he is not at work is to spend time being a dad.
