Dear Bettendorf Families/Guardians,
The Iowa Department of Public Health has updated its quarantine and isolation recommendations to align with new CDC guidelines. We wanted to alert you to the changes. For a one-page summary, click here. For a flow chart, click here.
If a student has had close contact (within 6ft for more than 15 minutes) with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 and was not consistently and correctly wearing a mask, he or she will quarantine with the following criteria:
14 Day Option - Best Practice - Keep your student at home for 14 days after last exposure.
10 Day Option - Keep your student at home for 10 days after last exposure.
7 Day Option – Keep your student at home for 7 days after last exposure.
If the positive case is a household member and they cannot be completely isolated from others in the household, the case completes their own 10 day isolation before starting quarantine count for other household members (day 11 is day 1).
Bettendorf will continue to update its website on Friday evening with the number of staff and students for the current week who test positive and those in quarantine.
