Daily Home Screener for Students & Staff

Please complete this short check each morning.

SECTION 1: Symptoms

If your child has any of the following symptoms, that indicates a possible illness that may decrease the student’s ability to learn and also put them at risk for spreading illness to others. Please check your child for these symptoms:

  • Temperature 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher when taken by mouth
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • New cough
  • Shortness of Breath or difficulty breathing
  • 2 or more of the following: fever, headache, muscle and body aches, fatigue, sore throat, runny nose, congestion, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea

SECTION 2: Close Contact/Potential Exposure

  • Had close contact (within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes)with a person with confirmed Positive for COVID-19.

If a student or staff member has any one of these boxes checked, you MUST not report to school/work and you MUST contact your Health care provider or Iowa’s 211 for further instructions.

Parents MUST call the school attendance line and report all of the information in the boxes checked that morning.

Staff MUST call the district Human Resources Department and report all of the information in the boxes checked that morning as well as completing your absence in Aesop.


MOBILE FOOD PANTRY - Tuesday, Sept. 15

The next BCSD Mobile Food Pantry will be Tuesday, September 15, at Mark Twain Elementary School 1620 Lincoln Rd., Bettendorf from 5:45-7 pm. Please do not arrive before 5:30 pm. Distribution will be done through a park & pick-up style. Please contact Marcy Volkstorf at (563) 359-9375 or email at mvolkstorf@bettendorf.k12.ia.us.


RUN WITH CARL – Going the Social Distance

To keep the Quad Cities Community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic while furthering Run with Carl, Run with Carl is going SOCIALLY DISTANCED!

Lace up your running/walking shoes and hit the pavement in honor of Carl, run the RWC route, and post a selfie tagging #RWC2020! Run with Carl will still be collecting donations to directly benefit the Bettendorf and Pleasant Valley School Foundations through our RWC PayPal.

Meetings are currently being held in the Bettendorf High School Performing Arts Center, 3311 18th Street. Guests are required to wear face covering and maintain appropriate social distancing. Seating is limited to 130 guests.

The public may also watch the meeting livestream on YouTube. If you are not able to attend and would like to provide a statement to school board members to be read at the meeting, please email cmiller@bettendorf.k12.ia.us by noon on the day of the meeting.

*PLEASE NOTE: Due to social distancing guidelines, spectators at all fall sports, including football games, must have a Bettendorf Athletic Department issued Gate Pass to enter the gates, regardless of Activity Tickets or All-Sports passes. These Gate Passes are distributed in limited quantities to athletes, band members, Goldusters, and cheerleaders in each sport. All-Sports Passes and Activity Tickets may still be used to pay admission fees. These restrictions currently apply to the fall season. Updates will be posted for each sports season as they become available. Thank you for understanding.

Info for Students & Fans

ATTENDING ATHLETIC EVENTS

Due to social distancing guidelines, spectators at all fall sports, including football games, must have a Bettendorf Athletic Department issued Gate Pass to enter the gates, regardless of Activity Tickets or All-Sports passes. Gate Passes are distributed in limited quantities to athletes, band members, Goldusters, and cheerleaders in each sport. There will be NO general admission for the public.

Spectators should not attend the event if they have any of the following:

  • Have been in contact with someone with a confirmed COVID 19 diagnosis in the last 14 days.
  • Are experiencing any of the following symptoms:
    • Fever (>100.4) or chills
    • Cough
    • Shortness of breath
    • Fatigue
    • Muscle or body aches not associated with exercise
    • Headache
    • Loss of taste or smell
    • Sore throat
    • ongestion or runny nose
    • Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea


As a friendly reminder, please know that all BCSD students and fans will be expected to adhere to the following:

  • Fans are required to wear a face mask.
  • Seats at our venues will be marked showing where spectators are able to sit allowing for social distancing between non-family groups.
  • Student section will have limited seating and will require face masks.
  • In an effort to prevent any injuries, fans are not permitted on any hills at TouVelle Stadium.
  • Please do not bring throwing balls of any kind; they are not permitted.
  • Fans are expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship and positive fan behavior.
  • Backpacks are not permitted; students should leave those in vehicles or at home.
  • Pets of any kind are not permitted on school grounds.


Please feel free to bring the following:

  • Your #bettpride spirit!
  • A solid appetite for the concessions including grilled sandwiches.
  • Cash or credit card to scoop up Bulldog apparel from the Athletic Boosters.
