Parent & Staff Learning Model Evaluation Surveys
The District is currently gathering information to make informed decisions for the second quarter through a survey sent out to parents and staff on Thursday, September 24th. As promised, we are re-evaluating our current hybrid learning model by exploring every option available to continue to provide the best learning environment and protect the health and safety of our students and staff at the same time. No decisions have been made, and no option is off the table at this time.
The surveys are open through noon on Monday, September 28th. The information is not binding and is only for district decision-making needs, including possible student schedule adjustments or teacher assignments.
We will send out an Intent to Return form on October 6th for parents to choose learning models for their students beginning on October 27th. The Intent to Return form will be due on October 9th.
Keeping our BCSD Community Informed
COVID-19 Status Update
September 21-25
4 - Individuals who tested positive
49 - Individuals currently quarantining
In an effort to keep students, staff, parents, and the entire community aware of how COVID-19 is impacting our District, we plan to share as much information as possible while protecting the privacy of those affected. Following the direction of the U.S. Department of Education, we will release details by District and not by building to ensure the privacy of our students and staff. Please note we will update this data at the close of each week, and you will be able to view it on the District Return-to-Learn Webpage.
When the District is notified of a positive COVID-19 case through the health department, parent, or staff member, the building principal and nurse will begin to assist the health department in determining any individuals who may have been in close contact with the positive individual. For all close contacts, the health department and/or the school will be in contact with the family.
Free Breakfast & Lunch for All Students
We are excited to share that the USDA is extending the Summer Food Service Program through Dec. 31, 2020, or while funds are available!
This means we will be able to provide FREE breakfast and lunch for every child between the ages of 1 - 18 years old. This includes students enrolled in the Bettendorf Community School District, as well as any other child aged 1 - 18 years. Learn more
The Genesis Flu-Free Quad Cities program will be available again to BCSD elementary students on Oct. 15 & 16. Parents will need to fill out a consent form.
