BCSD Schools Closed Through April 10

  • Pick-Up Meal Support
Will be made available to students similar to the summer meal program at Bettendorf Middle School and Neil Armstrong Elementary.
  • Academic Support Opportunities
Our plan is to have our academic support opportunities to students/parents by Monday, March 30. This will include both academic and social-emotional supports. Currently, faculty and staff are organized into deployment teams along curricular lines. While this teaming initially slows the launch of supports, it is critical infrastructure should we have extended closure.
  • Medication Pick Up
Any parent needing to pick up student medications housed in our nursing offices should contact your child’s school office on Monday, March 23, during normal office hours to set up a time to get the medications. Additional guidance for items other than medication will follow the week of March 30.
  • Extending the School Year
We will plan to extend the school year. This would not extend past Friday, June 12th.
  • Wednesday Early Releases Canceled
Wednesday Early Releases to support district professional development will be canceled through the end of this school year.
  • BHS Graduation to Remain Sunday, May 31
Under the current closure schedule, graduation will still take place on Sunday, May 31 at 1:00 PM.
  • Supporting Student Education
Explorations are underway as to how the district can support your child’s education during this period of closure. Updates will be provided but nothing would transpire until after Friday, March 27th.
  • Athletics & Extracurricular Activities Suspended
State associations have suspended all athletic, music and speech practices/contact, games and performances through April 12, 2020.
