The Employee of the Quarter Award recognizes Bettendorf Community School District staff members who provide exceptional service to others. Recipients demonstrate commitment to their job and/or school involvement above and beyond expectations.
Jessica is an exceptional teacher. She spends time getting to know her students and builds a repertoire of learning tasks that her students enjoy and learn from. She structures her lessons in ways that motivate students, prompt them to connect their learning to their own lives, and encourage them to take ownership for their learning. Jessica praises the efforts and persistence of her students. She uses a variety of instructional approaches so students have a meaningful experience in her classroom. Jessica provides opportunities for all students to learn and BCSD is proud to have her as a teacher.
Lindsey has an infectious positivism that exudes her. She is incredibly flexible and personable. She has a wonderful way with children who are injured, sick, or who just need some extra lovin'. Students know she truly cares about them. She is willing to go the extra mile to assist in any way she can.
In addition has she taken on the district Medicaid billing challenge. She is also so flexible to fly into action at a moment’s notice to fill in when building nurses are gone.
Lindsey has been an excellent addition to the BCSD staff!
Kris is a positive, upbeat colleague. She is the first one to school each morning with a smile on her face. She is a team player who always makes sure everyone has what they need. She always looks on the bright side of situations, and inspires others to be positive. Kris has been teaching for many years, but still strives to try new things and keep up with best practices.
Kris' students always make great progress and gains. Her students care about her and remember her for years to come. Her classroom environment is welcoming, and no student goes unnoticed.
Colleen is someone who puts others before herself all the time. She is always willing to do anything she can to support students and staff. She is positive and uplifting and constantly using her creative side in the school, to acknowledge others and provide some humor. We are lucky to have someone as caring, thoughtful and supportive working in our building as Colleen. The versatility Colleen provides is unmatched as she is able to teach a Library class, teach a class in the Tech Lab, pull extension groups, work with MTSS groups, support technology in classrooms, help lead committees, encourage staff gatherings, offering book clubs and works in our after school program. She does all this and never says one negative word.
We are fortunate Colleen has chosen to share her talents with students, staff and families at Neil Armstrong and in the Bettendorf Community School District.
