At the April 4 meeting of the Bettendorf Board of Education, directors approved the 2017/2018 levy rate of $13.86 per $1,000 taxable valuation, a $.02 increase per $1,000 taxable valuation compared to the 2016/2017 rate of $13.84.
“Supplemental State Aid (SSA) has recently been approved for 1.1%,” said Dallon Christensen, Director of Business and Financial Services, Bettendorf Community School District. “That is $73 more per pupil for our district, making our 2017/2018 per pupil reimbursement $6,738.”
The total fiscal year 2018 budget shows maximum expenditures up to $84 million. Of that, the regular education budget is $68.7 million, which is comprised of 18% new facilities and 68% salary/benefits.
