10302009_31001_2.jpgThe Bettendorf Community School District is a flagship school district established in 1907. The District provides a wide variety of educational programs for preschool through 12th grade students living within the District boundaries, approximately nine square miles of Bettendorf, Iowa as well as a small section of Davenport, Iowa. There are eight schools in the District: six elementary schools, one middle school, one high school with an alternative high school program (shared with two other neighboring school districts).  

Elementary Schools
Our curriculum emphasizes literacy, communication, reasoning, and problem solving. Other subjects, including physical education, health, art, and music, are taught to all students K-5. Orchestra is available to students as early as grade 4 and, band - grade 5.

The District’s six elementary schools offer a program dedicated to teaching a defined core of knowledge and skills in reading, math and science.

Our Middle School staff work in teacher teams to provide collaborative planning for educational experiences. Students participate in daily TA’s (teacher advisory periods) to hear building announcements and work on special activities. TA’s average 16 students. Through a “house” concept, each grade level is split into three sections, allowing teachers and students to develop stronger relationships and a sense of team.

Bettendorf Middle School is dedicated to meeting the unique academic and social needs of the young adolescent.

The professional staff of Bettendorf High School strives to prepare their students for the future with a student-centered schedule; an emphasis on active, applied learning; and the integration of school-to-work/career opportunities.
